Roles and access

Who can see and do what: administrators, treasurers and members.

Each person on your committee has their own personal login to InflowBooks. What they can see and do depends on the role you give them. This keeps your records safe while letting the right people do their work.

The four roles

Every committee login is given one of four roles. The table below shows what each role is allowed to do.

The roles explained

Administrator
Has full access, including Settings, committee management, all finances, and importing or exporting data.
Treasurer
Can record payments and expenses, add members, import and export data, and view reports. Cannot change Settings or manage the committee.
Cashier
Can record payments and collections and issue receipts, but cannot edit or delete them, add members, or reach any other area. Ideal for someone who only collects money at the counter.
Member
Read-only access. Can view members, payments and reports, but cannot record or edit anything.

Administrator-only areas

Some parts of InflowBooks are reserved for administrators. These are Settings, Committee members, the activity log and the sign-in log. A Treasurer, Cashier or Member will not see these areas.

Giving someone access

  1. As an administrator, open Settings from the menu.
  2. Open Committee members.
  3. Add the person you want to give access to, using their name and email.
  4. Pick the role that suits them: Administrator, Treasurer, Cashier or Member.
  5. Share the login details shown on screen with them so they can sign in and set their own password.

A person's role is not permanent. An administrator can change someone's role at any time, or disable their access if they leave the committee, without losing any of the records they helped create.

InflowBooks staff

Separately, InflowBooks staff hold a super-admin role that is used only to set new masjids up. They are not part of your committee and do not take part in your day-to-day records.
