Funds and campaigns
Organise money by purpose: general, building, Ramadan and Eid campaigns.
Funds are how InflowBooks keeps your money organised by purpose. A fund is simply a named bucket, so that every contribution is recorded against what it was meant for. This makes it easy to show your community exactly how much has been raised for each cause, and how much is still needed.
Monthly funds
A monthly fund is for ongoing monthly giving. Members hold a Subscription to it, and the system tracks who has paid and who is Outstanding each month. Common examples are a General fund for day-to-day running costs and a Building fund for upkeep.
Each monthly fund decides how the amount for each member is set:
- Fixed: every member pays the same amount towards the fund.
- Per-member: a default amount is suggested, but you can change it for each member individually on their own member page.
Campaigns
A Campaign is a one-time fund for a special cause, such as Ramadan, Eid or a new building. Unlike a monthly fund, a campaign is not tied to monthly subscriptions. Instead it collects one-off donations towards a particular cause, and can be shown publicly so anyone can contribute.
A campaign's fields
- Goal
- An optional target amount you hope to raise, for example ₹500,000 for a building campaign. When set, donors can see the progress towards it.
- Category
- A simple label that groups similar campaigns together, such as Construction, Welfare or Festival.
- Status
- Where the campaign is in its life: draft, active, paused, completed or archived. Only active campaigns are open for new contributions.
- Show on public homepage
- A visibility toggle that decides whether the campaign appears on your public page for anyone to see and support.
When a campaign is visible on your public page, donors can find it and give directly. See Your public page for how this appears to donors.
Campaigns
Ramadan Campaign
₹3,20,000 of ₹5,00,000
New Building Campaign
₹14,50,000 of ₹20,00,000
What each fund tells you
For every fund, monthly or campaign, you can see the total amount collected and how many people have contributed. This gives you a clear picture of which causes are well supported and which need more attention.
A fund can also be marked as counting towards your Waqf Board contribution, with an income type chosen for it. This keeps your Waqf figures correct without any extra work at the end of the year.
Creating a fund
- Open Funds from the menu and choose New fund.
- Give the fund a clear name, for example General, Building or Ramadan Campaign.
- Choose whether it is a monthly fund for subscriptions, or a one-time fund shown as a campaign.
- For a monthly fund, choose how the amount is set, either fixed or per-member. For a campaign, set an optional goal, a category and a status.
- If it counts towards the Waqf Board, turn that on and choose the income type.
- Save. The fund is now ready for subscriptions or contributions.
Removing a fund
A fund can be deleted only if it has no payments yet. Once any money has been recorded against it, the fund is kept so that your history stays intact.
